Notes on function keys:

Function keys may be reserved for operating system commands such as screen brightness. Extra steps may be required to use the function keys within an application. These procedures are specific to different operating systems and hardware manufacturers, and may include the following:

1. Hold the FUNCTION key, labeled FN on the keyboard, then press the desired function key, such as F1.

2. Enable or disable Function Lock to toggle the behavior of function keys. Hold the FUNCTION key, then press the ESC key.

3. Change the keyboard settings within the system BIOS.

4. Change the keyboard settings within the manufacturer software. For example, on macOS, go to Apple Menu > System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts and enable the option Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.
